Located in Fort Worth’s dangerous Hells Half Acre since the 1890’s, the White Elephant after years of dormancy moved to the Historic Stockyards in the 1970’s and has been one of Fort Worth’s premiere tourist attractions ever since.

Known in Wild West lore as host to Fort Worth’s last gunfight featuring Fort Worth Sheriff Longhair Jim Courtright against White Elephant owner Luke Short, the White Elephant Saloon is to this day still haunted by the memory & presence of Longhair Jim, one of Fort Worth’s most corrupt lawmen.
